behaviour, attitudes and environmental conditions of building users, and in the 
design and management problems related to building usability.  He has carried 
out pioneering research work covering environmental comfort, satisfaction, 
productivity, perceptions of control and energy efficiency, all of which are 
related to building user's perspectives on design, management and environmental 
matters. The knowledge from this research is used to help potential or current 
building owners prepare strategies for the future management and use of their 
building stock, or to prepare detailed design briefs. Adrian lectures, writes 
and broadcasts on user and management topics in building design in Britain and 
overseas.
